I led a strategic program to identify and define a new product opportunity centered around a next-generation suction-based mounting system. The goal was to move beyond traditional passive suction solutions and introduce an intelligent system that actively monitors attachment integrity, providing real-time feedback to users through an integrated mobile experience. The core value proposition focused on peace of mind—ensuring that mounted gear, whether bikes or other equipment, remains secure while in transit.
The engagement was primarily research-driven, combining competitive analysis, demographic insights, and qualitative research to uncover unmet needs in the market. I conducted a landscape review of leading brands and adjacent categories, identifying a clear gap between high-performance hardware and user-facing feedback systems. This was complemented by stakeholder input and targeted surveys to better understand usage behaviors, pain points, and expectations around trust, safety, and ease of use.
From these insights, I defined a cohesive product strategy and system architecture centered around this smart suction sensor platform. Beyond the core product, I developed a scalable vision for a broader ecosystem—illustrated through a series of vector-based system diagrams—that demonstrated how the technology could extend across multiple use cases, form factors, and mounting scenarios.
This work helped the client align on a clear product direction and prioritize development efforts around a differentiated, high-value opportunity. It also positioned the concept as the foundation for a modular portfolio of smart mounting solutions, creating a pathway for future expansion and sustained business growth.
